What size is right for me?
To find your perfect size, consider the space of your room and who will be sleeping in the bed. There are lots of different mattress dimensions to wrap your head around, so we'll talk you through the key differences so you know when to upsize.
The standard Single has enough space for one person and is especially great for kids. It’s small, easily flipped and transported, and can fit into smaller spaces. An Extra Long Single is great for taller children or growing teenagers, especially if you’re short on space. This size is slightly longer than a Single size mattress but measures the same width. If you prefer something a little roomier, a King Sized Single might be what you’re looking for. This size remains the same length as an Extra Long Single, but 14cm wider.
The Double sized mattress has enough sleeping space for two adults. It’s great for smaller sized couples or single adults looking for extra room. For couples with children who may hop in during the night, it’s probably worth upsizing to a Queen or King.
The next bed size up is a Queen. This size brings extra space for the kids without an expensive price tag, making it the most popular choice of mattress size. Perfect for a snuggly Sunday morning with the family.
The King sized mattress is a great choice, as it can comfortably sleep all sized couples, families and pets. If you have the luxury of room, this size is perfect for extra comfort and luxurious sleeping space. The Super King, sometimes known as, ‘The California King’ is the longest size available on the market, measuring 20cm longer than the King. This bed size ideally suits taller couples who could use extra leg room.
Is firmer always better?
It's often believed that a firmer mattress is a better mattress, but this isn't always the case. It all comes down to your preferred sleeping position and your personal preference.
